“In this disproportionate confrontation between man and society, the lawyer faces fear, popular emotionalism, judges and the law (...). (...) Sometimes he has to confront the laws themselves (...). In the political arena, in particular, the lawyer's force of opposition can save, if not men, then at least liberties.”
Gisèle Halimi, in the National Assembly on April 22, 1982
Convinced that politics can find a place in any legal proceeding, the firm fights against the repression of opponents, militants, activists and, more generally, of all those who are prevented from thinking.
With freedom as their spearhead and the law as their compass, their lawyers think, imagine and construct a defense that guarantees the right to express oneself, to demonstrate, to believe and to exist.
Involved from the moment of police arrest, following questionable police operations or demonstrations, the firm opposes the repression of movements, uprisings and, more generally, of all those who keep the Republic and democracy alive.
Today, political repression has many facets, and the firm defends its clients both in criminal law before criminal courts and assize courts, and in public law and fundamental freedoms before administrative courts and the Conseil d'Etat.
Examples of cases handled :
- Cancellation by an investigating chamber of the search of a home where yellow vest protesters were found and, consequently, of the entire procedure;
- Cancellation by the Conseil d'État of the decree dissolving the environmental movement Soulèvements de la Terre;
- Defense of a protester at an environmental protest in Sainte-Soline who was identified by algorithmic facial recognition software;
- Cancellation by an administrative court of decisions to isolate a person accused and detained for terrorism;
- Repeal by the Constitutional Council of an article of the State of Emergency Law that allowed prefects to ban people from attending demonstrations;
- Cancellation of the proceedings and acquittal of a Parisian demonstrator present at the demonstration on May 1, 2023;
- Cancellation of several individual administrative control and surveillance measures (MICAS) as part of the “security” operations for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games;
