A renowned criminal lawyer, Raphaël Kempf offers uncompromising technical and political defense.
He has been involved in important criminal cases affecting society: he defended a defendant in the trial for the attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris, but also people labeled as “terrorists” and numerous victims of the repression of political action and police violence.
He has developed legal expertise in the field of fundamental freedoms and has defended the freedom of expression of the ecological group “Soulèvements de la Terre” and numerous activist groups, as well as trade unions, journalists and political figures.
Raphaël Kempf has lived in Israel, where he worked as a volunteer for a Palestinian NGO, in Egypt, where he did an internship with the lawyer Khaled Ali, and in Algeria, where he worked for the law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel.
With degrees in international economic law, human rights and Arabic, he has never stopped combining reflection with action, and has published several books on climate change, rogue legislation and judicial violence, as well as articles on American justice, police violence and social movements.
A regular guest speaker on the subject of law and justice, he has taught at the Collège de France, King's College London, Sciences Po Paris and the National School of Magistrates.
